Many people struggle to define what love is, but I think it’s quite simple. Love is nothing other than the desire to be near someone or near something. When you love a person, it means that you just want to be around them. When you love something, you enjoy having it or using it. Of course, love is not quite as selfish as I made it sound above, and at least when it comes to humans, love necessarily entails caring for the other person, wishing them well and wanting to see them succeed and prosper.
